INTERNET ACCESS
Since the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign played a
very important role in
the creation of the internet as we know it today, it is only fitting
that we let you know how you might access the internet once you are on
campus.
Free wireless internet access will be available for conference
attendees with wireless-enabled laptops. Wireless access is controlled by a
unique login and password distributed by the University, which will be
assigned to you at check-in. Access is available in certain spots on
campus, including in the Illini Union and the Chemistry Annex Building.
Click here for more information on
wireless access on
campus, including VPN software needed for access (detailed directions
will be given at the conference).
Walk-up internet access will be available for conference attendees with
a laptop with an ethernet adaptor card. Access is also controlled by a
unique login and password distributed by the University, which will be
assigned to you at registration. Click here for more information on
walk-up internet
access on campus. No special configuration or software is needed.
For those of you without laptops, there may be limited access to
internet-connected computers while on campus. Student computer labs are not
open to the public and use a different login/password system than the
ones we'll be assigning for wireless access. More information about
wired computer access on campus will come as we get closer to the
conference.
