and formats the guest's presentation for delivery to the class.
What does the student need to bring to the lesson? - Complete prior readings.
Guiding Questions for this Activity: (not presented directly
to students but a question that should be addressed in the readings)

Purpose:
Add to your knowledge of online teaching and learning by questioning
another professional involved in online education.
Our Guest Lecturer is Dr. xxx xxxx, who teaches at xxx University
and also in this xxx program. You can
learn more about xxx at URL.
Topic and Lecture:
Xxx is going to reflect on how his teaching has changed over the past
5 years because of technology. Actually, he's already done this and
his lecture is available via a podcast at http://www.ltgreenroom.org/episodes/31
Listening and Posting
Your job is to first listen to the podcast. Then, prior to the
deadline on the calendar, you are asked to either pose a question based on
the guest lecture OR comment on something Norm said that had particular
relevance to your situation (and why). Of course, you should also participate
in any discussion that ensues. Norm will be interacting with the class
via this forum.
Post your questions in the forum below.
the forum would then be present below as this activity was presented
within the MOODLE CMS

Teaching Strategies:
What are some tips to help the lesson run smoothly? Patience is a key. Provide
the students time to guide the discussion on the guest's lecture.
Allow the students time to view answers and perhaps propose their own answers
to the questions of other students. Rather than provide direct answers, guide
students to the answers of their questions. Try not to let misunderstandings
linger, but at the same time allow for students to self correct or correct
others.
Accommodations:
What accommodations may be needed for students
with disabilities or other special needs? Since this lesson involves a
podcast, students with auditory difficulties will need a transcript of the
lecture.
