WebCT is one of the most widely used online content delivery
tools in the world right now. Still, many do not know how to use all of
its features. The purpose of this work is to address the need that many
have to understand the myriad of functions found within the WebCT tool.
The link below will take you to a Flash-based walkthrough
on the use of WebCT from an instructor's standpoint. If you do not have
the Flash player, it can be downloaded for free from Macromedia.
You will need version 6 to view all of the files found within this tutorial.
While it probably could be used as such, this presentation
is not meant as an index of WebCT features. In other words, I have yet to
create an index where you can look up a specific feature. There is, however,
a table of contents at the beginning that divides the topics into general
categories, and a common navigation scheme throughout that will help you
find a specific topic if you so desire. Instead, this presentation is meant
as a walkthrough. By following the lessons in order from lesson one to the
end, you will be shown how to create a course, then how to set up a course,
and then how to use the course tools found within WebCT. At times, the instructor
walkthrough will refer to the student tutorial, which is a separate document.
This referal is because I did not duplicate materials here that I already
present in the student version. If you link to the student tutorial, you
will need to use the refresh button on your browser to return to the instructor
tutorial as there are no reverse links.
One final note - The file sizes of the Shockwave files used
in this presentation range from 10 to 880 kb in size. It is highly recommended
that you use a fast Internet connection when watching this walkthrough.
There are many many files and you don't want to wait for loading times.
That being said, enjoy.
